The Paris–Chartres Pilgrimage is a three-day journey of faith held each year during the Pentecost season. For over 40 years, it has brought together thousands of pilgrims from many different countries, united in prayer, tradition, and spiritual purpose.
Organized under the patronage of Notre-Dame de Chrétienté, the pilgrimage is rooted in Catholic tradition and devotion. Pilgrims walk over 100 kilometers from Paris to Chartres, embracing both physical challenge and spiritual growth.
People take part in the pilgrimage for many reasons: to deepen their faith, to seek clarity and direction, to offer prayers and intentions, or simply to experience a unique moment of brotherhood and reflection.
The journey leads to Chartres Cathedral, home to the revered relic of the Veil believed to have been worn by the Virgin Mary, making it one of the most significant spiritual destinations in France.
Our Chapter is called "The Companions of Padre Pio". We have done the pilgrimage as a "Family Chapter" from the year 2022, and this will be our 5th year, inviting different families from the UK.
However also enjoying the company of other pilgrims from other foreign countries, such as the USA, the Middle East, Argentina and much more!
We have a special devotion to St Padre Pio, an Italian Capuchin friar and priest known for his deep holiness, intense prayer life, and the mysterious stigmata—the wounds of Christ—that he bore for much of his life.
Born in 1887, he dedicated himself fully to God, spending long hours in confession and guiding thousands of people spiritually at his monastery in San Giovanni Rotondo.
Despite suffering, illness, and skepticism from others, he remained humble and faithful, becoming a powerful symbol of devotion, sacrifice, and trust in God.
He was canonized a saint in 2002 and is remembered today as a spiritual father to many.
